Back to the land of Oz, which last time we were on the main storyline, was falling apart. Amy is back again and continuing on her mission to rid Oz of Dorothy. But first, she needs to find a way back there from Kansas, and figure out how to stop her in the first place. Time to jump into Yellow Brick War.
I can’t stop reading these novellas. It is becoming a serious addiction that is coming to a screeching halt here soon since after this one, there is only one more novella. For this one though, we join the Scarecrow in the Emerald Palace as he rules over Oz. What changed him into the experimenting, crazed, scientist he becomes? Time to find out I guess!
Another look back at the time just as Dorothy is returning to Oz. This time, we are looking at the like of the Tin Woodman, and what he had done since the Wizard left and when Dorothy returns. What made him into the murdering machine we saw in the first two books of the series? What happened to the heart he was given so that he could feel again?
I am continuing my way through the prequel novels for the Dorothy Must Die series. Apparently I am just in an Oz mood. This time we are seeing the world through the eyes of Jellia, the head maid in the palace of the Emerald City, who turned into a spy for The Order of the Wicked in the main books. How did it happen though, and what would change her from a loyal palace maid to a revolutionary?
While waiting for the next book to release in the “Dorothy Must Die” series, I decided to start tackling the prequel novels. This is the first. Obviously Dorothy Gale made it back to Oz somehow, but what is the story behind it? More importantly, what had corrupted her in the first place. We start off in Kansas on Dorothy’s sixteenth birthday, and while she loves her home, she still wishes to be back in Oz.
Amy Gumm has managed to leave Kansas and fall into Oz. She has watched companions and friends die at the hands of those who are “Good.” Learning Magic was complicated for her at first, but she has managed it well, and is becoming fairly adept at it. She hid amongst the staff in the palace, and escaped when their attack on Dorothy failed. The question remains though, is she with the right group and doing the right things? Or, has she been recruited for the wrong side of this war?
Dorothy clicked her heels, ending up back home laying in bed, in her room in Aunt Em’s house in Kansas. What happened after though? Did she ever miss Oz, or her friends there? Was Kansas too boring after seeing what life was like in another place? Amy Gumm is about to find out when she is plucked from her not-so-friendly life in Kansas and taken to Oz in a tornado that rips her and her trailer from the trailer park she calls home. The real question is: Can wicked be good, and good be wicked?
