Review: The Incredible Magic of Being

I love getting into a book with a child/teen that is more scientifically minded. Personally, I grew up trying to break things down I didn’t understand, so I relate to those characters more.

Enter Julian, a kid who is more scientifically minded, who according to most lives a sheltered life, but is forever optimistic and see infinite possibilities around him. As his family is moving from DC to rural town in Maine, but the usually tight knit family seems to be falling apart, but Julian has a plan. He is excited at the prospect of finally using his telescope to discover a new star or comet; then he can show it to his family and show them how unique the universe is, which will hopefully reunite them.

Review and Giveaway: Amasai

Hello middle grade and YA fans! I got the chance to get my hands on an early copy of Stevie Rae Causey’s third book, and the second in the ‘Amasai Rising’ series.

Amasai brings the return of Azlana and Luke, both who are involved in the alliance inĀ  different ways. Luka was left behind in their hometown to face the annoying city kids on his own. Azlana is apparently burdened with a greater purpose no one will explain to her, and she has set off on her own because her mind is betraying her… or is it?

Review: Anhedonia

Now that we have done some mainstream novels, time to jump back to one of favorite Indie authors. Stevie Rae Causey released a follow up to her novel “Ring of Fire,” and it will be the first book of the Amasai series.

Years have passed since the events of “Ring of Fire.” Kala is older, and the child she had with the Elven Prince is growing into a beautiful young lady. When the Alliance sends word of an attack though, and a potential betrayer, they need to escape quickly to the lands of the Mystics. But that means admitting that she has lied about Azlana’s heritage to her. Unbeknownst to everyone around them though, a stow-away is tagging along. All it brings is darkness in it’s wake.

The real fun begins though, as she falls asleep that night after school, and something beyond her wildest imagination comes into being. So let us take a look at Ellie Collins, and her book “Daisy, Bold and Beautiful.”

Indie Spotlight: Tai Manivong

Long time no see Indie Author Lovers! Recently I was contacted by a new indie author about reading her book “Crimson” and review it. It sounded really interesting, and it had been awhile since I exposed myself to a new author, so I jumped at the chance. See my review of the first book below, and a short interview with Tai below that!

Crimson is a Norterridane, a type of dog hybrid, that lives on a continent named Genorrida. Her species is tasked with a very special job, protecting the hatchlings of Dragons that are born on Genorrida until they are old enough to rejoin their race on a different continent. Not everyone is fit to be a Dragon Keeper though, and some worry that Crimson herself will not follow in her father’s footsteps to become a keeper herself. One night though, a sound in the distance calls to a young Crimson. Even though leaving the den at night is not the best of ideas, she has to know where it is coming from.
